About Us

Fin, Furred N Feathered was founded in April 2019 by one of our foster carers and volunteers, Emma.

The rescue was entirely Melbourne based, until an emotional late-night phone call, after a very challenging day, with one of our Wagga volunteers. The idea formed that we should start a Wagga, NSW foster team, and in March 2022, we established our amazing Wagga Foster and Volunteer Team!

The rescue was created to form a community network, with a goal of helping animals of all descriptions. Working closely with other rescues, vet clinics, pounds, shelters, and members of the public, we are able to help those that desperately need it!

We ensure that every animal that comes into our care is placed in a safe and caring foster environment, and is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted!

About Emma -
Director, Volunteer & Foster Care Co-Ordinator (Melbourne)

Emma has spent her life, working with many different rescues, shelters and veterinary clinics. She has fostered various different animals since early 2008, and has “foster failed” most of her finned, furred or feathered children!

When not volunteering her time for Fin, Furred N Feathered, Emma works part time at a local veterinary clinic and Monash University. She spends any remaining time playing the clarinet, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing video games, being outside, kayaking, and eating (yes, eating is her hobby…)

Emma is owned by her dog, Sasha; her 3 cats, Sookie, Squirt and Audrey; and whichever foster creature is in desperate need of TLC and spoiling at the time (currently Willow the kitten, featured on our home page!)
